I was sooo excited when Brett called me to photograph him proposing to his (then girlfriend) Jackie! We arranged to meet at Redfish Lake at a certain time in a certain location. Brett found the perfect log by the lake shore to have Jackie stand on so that he could “pretend” to take a picturesque photo of her with the mountains in the background, at which point he would approach her with the ring and ask her to marry him. When I arrived near the location, I found a couple that were sitting on the beach about 100 feet away from where the proposal took place and asked them to just pretend that we were together so that Jackie wouldn’t notice me.
