A few weeks ago I was contacted by Jen to capture her daughter’s proposal in Sun Valley. The plan was for Andrew to bring Allie to a romantic champagne picnic at the Hemingway Memorial. I hid and pretended that I was photographing as the two of them made their way to the picnic that Allie and Andrew’s family laid out for them. As I saw Andrew open his backpack I quickly focused on them and started snapping away. Allie was completely surprised and even more shocked to see their family members run out from their hiding spot to shower them with love.

I was sooo excited when Brett called me to photograph him proposing to his (then girlfriend) Jackie! We arranged to meet at Redfish Lake at a certain time in a certain location. Brett found the perfect log by the lake shore to have Jackie stand on so that he could “pretend” to take a picturesque photo of her with the mountains in the background, at which point he would approach her with the ring and ask her to marry him. When I arrived near the location, I found a couple that were sitting on the beach about 100 feet away from where the proposal took place and asked them to just pretend that we were together so that Jackie wouldn’t notice me. Here are the photos from that magical afternoon:

Marie and Tyler were such a fun couple to spend the afternoon with and photograph!  I am elated to photograph their wedding in March here in Sun Valley!  Here are a few of my favorite images from their engagement session:

The afternoon with McKenzie and Ryan was INCREDIBLY fun!  We took all of their engagement photos at The River Grove Farm, where Ryan was raised.  I was amazed at how beautiful the property was surrounding the farm, and how beautiful and well kept the actual farm was.  It is also home to Brentina an Olympic dressage horse who was ridden by Ryan’s mother.  Although Brentina herself was not at the barn during our photoshoot, we did get some must-have photos in front of a swirling bronze statue of her.  The most precious animal I was able to work with, however, was McKenzie and Ryan’s lab, Hank, who gave his best smile whenever I asked about his girlfriend (; I loved spending the day with Ryan, McKenzie and Hank, and am most excitingly looking forward to their wedding this summer at the Farm!

I had a great time getting to know and photographing Heather and Graydon during their engagement session.  I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in September!!  Here are my favorite images from their session:

In continuing my throwback Thursday posts, here’s an engagement session from last winter that never made it on the blog!! AJ hired me to photograph their engagement photos the SAME DAY he proposed to Anna.  They are an incredibly cute couple, so cute, in fact, that Anna sent me the link to a contest minted was hosting last fall for designers and my images were selected to use for the competition!  Here are my favorite images from their photoshoot including some samples of the designs that were created using my images.

On Christmas morning in their home in Hawaii, Kyle surprised Liza with the exciting news that he had planned a trip for them to visit Sun Valley!  He also let Liza know he contacted me to photograph their engagement session while they were visiting.  When I met them on Saturday, they had only been in Sun Valley for a few hours, and I was excited to learn that it was their FIRST time here, as I had some great locations picked out for their session.  We had fun driving around town, walking in snow and exchanging stories about our dogs, and my favorite places to eat in Sun Valley.  We ended the session at A La Mode in Sun Valley for some sweet hot cocoa.  Here are my favorite images from their session:

I had a blast exploring Parker’s beautiful ranch in Mackay, ID, and photographing him and his gorgeous fiancee Brittany.  These two are incredibly adorable and I couldn’t be happier for them.  Here are some of my favorite images from their engagement session:

I am soo honored to have been voted as one of the best photographers in the Valley!  This is the first time I have received such recognition here and with soo many talented photographers in the area, I am truly grateful for all the love!  Thank you!
